If you really need convincing...
Makeup is a mystery to me. Some things are obvious - eyeliner goes on eyes, lipliner goes on lips - but other things aren't nearly as straightforward. What's primer, and where does it go? What on earth is tight-lining? How do I put on blush without looking like a clown?
This looks like a job for The Pink Ladies at Phoenix Cosmetics! Treat yourself to a makeover with this talented team, or let them show you the ropes with the ultimate makeup lesson.
Get a new look, experiment with something different or just stay with the look you’re familiar with. Whether you need a colour update or makeup for a special occasion, they'll cater to all your make-up needs. Walk away with refreshing new makeup and a detailed face chart that describes how that look was achieved.
In a 30 or 60 minute appointment, learn how to get a flawless foundation base, apply blusher and create smokey eyes, professionally. Their makeup artists will show you step-by-step which products and which tools to use and how to apply makeup correctly. You'll walk away with more confidence in your own makeup application, learn which products & colours suit you best as well as taking home a detailed face chart.
What's more, with the 60 minute appointment, you'll also receive $40 toward the purchase of products so you can try your look out again at home!
One of only a handful of New Zealand owned cosmetics companies, Phoenix is the brainchild of make-up artist Phoenix Renata. Still in her 20s, this entrepreneurial young woman saw a gap in the market and set out to fill it. Three years of intensive research and product development led Phoenix to make her dream of creating a range of makeup that caters to all women, into a reality. Phoenix Cosmetics' flagship boutique opened on Broadway, Newmarket in May 2005.
With 10 boutiques in New Zealand and 1 in Australia, they are staffed entirely by trained make-up artists, something Phoenix thinks is essential to ensure clients leave with the correct make-up for their skin type and colouring. The Phoenix Cosmetics make-up artists are famously known as ‘The Pink Ladies’ by their clients and by industry professionals. Always dressed in pink satin Phoenix Cosmetics bomber jackets, the Pink Ladies are a talented group of make-up artists and creative individuals.
The team of Pink Ladies work both in store and in the industry and always have a creative and fun project they are working on. Phoenix invests a lot of training into her team to upskill them into the very best they can be.
FashionNZ calls Phoenix "a walking, talking beauty bible" and the Sunday Herald News reckons that "you don't need to be an astrologer to predict that Phoenix's star is on the rise". Phoenix Cosmetics was voted 'Best Makeup' by Metro Best of Auckland and 'Best Beauty Boutique' by Sunday Magazine.
Says Phoenix:"Not all women know what products to buy or how to apply make-up well. we want to show clients how to make-up the most of their beauty routine with quality advice as well as quality products. With the boutique, I wanted to create an environment in which people would feel relaxed and at home and not intimidated to try new products."
Wow, makeup's not such a mystery after all! I can't wait to try out everything I've learned from those fabulous Pink Ladies at Phoenix Cosmetics!
